THE PARISH CHURCH

St Giles’ is an Anglican Church in the liberal catholic tradition. The Church of England services use beautiful vestments, bells and incense, among other things, to enhance worship centred on the Eucharist (Holy Communion or Mass). The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the Lady Chapel. The church is used daily for prayer and worship. Established in 1092 by a Norman noblewoman, the church is Grade II*-listed.

St Giles' is part of the Inclusive Church movement and offers a warm welcome, whatever your background, gender, race, sexuality or beliefs – male and female priests work at St Giles’.

As a parish church, St Giles' is a part of the Parish of the Ascension and a member of the ChurchatCastle. The diocese is Ely.

We are committed to social action, hosting the Cambridge Churches Homeless Project and events such as ‘The Big Sleepout’, which raises awareness for homeless people and refugees. We raise money for a variety of causes at home and abroad.

As well as being an Anglican parish church, we host the Romanian Orthodox Parish of St John the Evangelist, and throw the church open as an affordable venue for concerts, rehearsals, speaker meetings, community activities and meals.
